This adventure program promotes teamwork and self awareness

Tocaloma’s Outpost Adventure Program promotes teamwork, fosters self-awareness, and allows campers to develop skills in a variety of outdoor sports and recreational activities.

Emphasis is placed on skill development, teamwork, decision-making, and individual responsibility and self-awareness.

Camp activities include team building initiatives, sports, arts & crafts, swimming, archery, drama, daily events and much more!

Court Sports

All of our campers adore Gaga and basketball activities, which are played in a developmentally appropriate way and with campers of a similar age. We also offer tennis and pickleball activities for campers entering 2nd grade and above.

Rock Wall

For campers entering 2nd grade and above, we offer climbing on our auto-belay rock wall. Our patient and knowledgeable staff will instruct your camper on how to climb safely and will be there cheering them on the whole way!

Swim Lessons

Our daily swim program is a cornerstone of the Tocaloma experience. Campers receive daily swim lessons from our engaging staff in a safe and fun environment.

Campers are grouped based on age and skill level and will learn both basics (floating, blowing bubbles, side breathing) and more advanced techniques (strokes and kicks). Instruction involves games, songs, and toys to make it extra entertaining.

Our older campers love that their swim program includes water polo, water basketball, and other team challenges.

Swim safety is paramount; we have at least one lifeguard on deck during all sessions in addition to swim instructors who are in the water right next to their groups.

Arts & Crafts

At Tocaloma, we live by the credo “There are no mistakes in art, just opportunities."

Campers will engage in process-based art that will spark their creativity, promote better hand-eye-coordination, and learn age-appropriate art techniques.

With the soft background music and the kind, patient instruction, this air-conditioned space feels like a true sanctuary.

Dramatic Play

Dramatic play is a fun way to boost confidence and social-emotional growth in children, so we sprinkle it throughout our camp program.

Camper groups may play improv and lip sync games as well as perform small skits as part of their program.

Our campers love our big lip sync show, Mock Rock, where they perform for their peers in a high-energy and supportive environment.

Whether your child likes to be center stage or to direct from backstage, we will find a role perfectly suited for them.

Snow Day

It feels like pure magic when 16 tons of snow descend upon our campus every July. Our snowy, summer wonderland includes a hill for sledding as well as a snow patch for making snow angels and mini snow creations…and of course, it’s perfect for sprinkling snow on their counselor’s head!

Field Sports

We utilize our expansive outdoor field space to separate activities based on campers' age and stage of development.

Our younger campers play classic sports such as t-ball, soccer, and kickball, as well as camp classics such as pool noodle hockey and parachute games.

For our older campers, the program incorporates activities such as wiffle ball, flag football, volleyball, and camp classics such as World Cup, Capture the Flag, and 360 Dodgeball.

Theme Days!

Throughout the summer we have optional dress up days such as Tube sock-Tutu Tuesdays and Camp Spirit days that encourage camper and staff silliness and creativity.

We also have carnival dress-up days such as Superhero Day, Frontier Day, and Surf & Safari, where campers go from booth to booth to play theme-related games and enjoy inflatables such as the bounce house and obstacle course. Each carnival ends with campers enjoying icy cold popsicles while they relax with friends.

Archery

Our archery program is designed for all ages and levels of ability. We teach campers how to safely handle the equipment and proper technique so that they will feel comfortable and successful as they develop into little archers.
