Explorers

Developed specifically for children entering Kindergarten, Tocaloma’s Explorer Program groups are divided by gender and comprised of 8 to 10 boys and girls and an outgoing, energetic and compassionate counselor. Together, they spend the summer making new friends, trying new activities and exploring new adventures!

With an emphasis on skills development, self-esteem, social skills and fun with friends, Tocaloma’s qualified staff is trained in setting up developmentally appropriate activities, utilizing encouragement and praise as well as facilitating friendships. Groups participate in activities ranging from music and drama to arts & crafts and beginning sports. And of course, Tocaloma's fun-filled themes days, such as Halloween in July, Mock Rock and Mud Decathlon.

Swim Lessons
An element unique to the Explorer Program is the daily swim lesson. Taught by our experienced and enthusiastic swim instructors, Tocaloma’s swim program begins with an individual evaluation and appropriate placement according to skill level.

After being placed in small groups, lessons are taught at a pace comfortable for each individual camper. Whether a camper is putting their face in the water for the first time or finessing their stroke, Tocaloma maintains a commitment to creating a sense of possibility and success for each camper.
